What You’ll Do
You’ll be a core contributor to Lextract’s GenAI-driven product engine—shaping and scaling our document analysis stack, context-aware LLM pipelines, and user-facing workflows for legal professionals. This is a high-impact role where engineering excellence meets real-world use cases.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Architecting and building AI-powered backend services using Python (FastAPI), supporting intelligent document review, summarization, clause linking, and reporting
• Designing and maintaining structured databases (PostgreSQL + SQLAlchemy) for large-scale legal data and cross-document references
• Implementing RAG pipelines and specialized LLM agents for context-aware question answering and task automation
• Deploying and monitoring microservices on Azure, ensuring performance, reliability, and security in line with GDPR requirements
• Integrating GenAI capabilities into Lextract’s backend processing and front-end workflows
• Collaborating cross-functionally with legal experts, design, and product to bring workflows like LexChat, document validation, and automated red-flag reporting to life
• Participating in the full development lifecycle: code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tasks, and release planning in a fast-paced, iterative environment

Core Requirements:

• Solid background in software engineering, with strong knowledge of system design, clean code practices, and automated testing
• Deep experience with Python, particularly with modern web frameworks like FastAPI
• Advanced SQL knowledge, ideally with hands-on use of SQLAlchemy or similar ORMs
• Familiarity with Azure services, including deployment, storage, and security practices
• Experience with Git-based workflows, including pull requests, reviews, and CI/CD automation

Nice to Have:

• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into real products
• Experience in developing software with the GenAI stack (prompt engineering, RAG, evaluation frameworks, Agent frameworks)
• Previous work in early-stage startups, AI agencies, or fast-moving tech teams
• Comfort working in multilingual, multi-jurisdictional environments and interfacing with legal professionals
